"Cynicism" is actually an ancient Greek philosophy. With this definition of cynicism, the most famous cynic, the 4th Century philosopher Antisthenes was. (But then again, how could he be famous? "I've never heard of him, and I even took three classes in the philosophy of the school.) This classic version of the cynicism, rejecting conventional style. The classic cynic in goodness and simplicity are interested in all aspects of their lives. Cynicism, in this sense is an early example ofAsceticism.

My favorite was Antisthenes said? "I'd rather be mad than feel pleasure."

That's some hardcore philosophy right.

Famous Modern cynics

The classic definition of cynicism is only used by the philosophers in those days. In today's parlance, cynicism is just the attitude that people are even interested. One of the most common adjectives used to describe a modern cynic is "dull". If you describe someone as cynical, you are referring in generaltheir willingness to believe the worst in others.

When I think of a cynic in today's parlance, I think of people like Howard Stern, Donald Trump, and George Carlin. Others are famous cynic Richard Nixon, Gordon Gekko, and Snake Plissken.

One of the most recent comments by Howard Stern shows his cynicism: "The mere mention of the name Jay Leno's makes me want to vomit."

It's hard to imagine a person in a harmless entertainment as Jay Leno, but HowardStern sees his cynical mode, the seemingly charming person. He sees Jay Leno as a man who is sabotaging the Conan O'Brien and those resulting from Carson on The Tonight Show in a merciless way.

Coming up with a famous quote from Gordon Gekko cynical does not take long. "Greed is good." What needs to be said yet?

George Carlin manages to be cynical, funny and whimsical all at the same time, this is no small achievement. My favorite cynical George Carlin quote? "Think about how stupid theaverage person is, and realize that half of them are stupider than that. "

Richard Nixon said: "Any change is resisted because bureaucrats have a personal interest in the chaos, in which they can exist." Nixon, cynical? Nah.

Little House on the Prairie. Gunsmoke. Bonanza. The Waltons. Wonder Woman. Murder She Wrote. Columbo. Emergency. The A-Team. Mission Impossible. The Lone Ranger. The list of classical drama / adventure television shows on DVD goes on and on.

Hollywood Physique Transformation - The over 35 Crowd

Due to the overwhelming response from my first Hollywood Muscle article, I have decided to continue with the Hollywood Muscle Series.

I got a few comments, but one comment really stood out.
A person has a number of Hollywood stars have built impressive physiques.
In the past I've mainly focused on rapid changes for film roles. In this article we'll look at a few actors and celebrities who have converted to form the body to take, albeit in amore slowly.

More importantly, and unlike some of the "Young Gun actor," many of these actors and celebrities have maintained a high level of fitness over the years.
So here we go with another Hollywood Muscle list ...

Honorable Mention: Kevin Eubanks

Years ago I see you on the Tonight ShowJay Leno on a regular basis. Jay's band leader Kevin Eubanks is.
For some reason I just stopped the show for a while. And if I turn again ... I discovered packed that Kevin Eubanks had some serious muscle.
As additional note of interest is Kevin vegan and apparently built his muscles without meat or chicken.

Hollywood Physique Transformation # 5: Danny Bonaduce

I'm not really a big fan of this cat (ok, that it to say the least. The truth is, he getson my nerves.
Plus, if memory serves right, he was open with steroids.
But he has from the dry to the Partridge Family child go to a pretty buff dude. A full transformation, which has attracted some attention ... but not my favorite character.

Hollywood Physique Transformation # 4: Carrot Top

The next one is just weird.
The prop comic Carrot Top went from weird looking and thin ... too weird looking and buff.
Not even one of my favorites (not even thinkingHe was funny in the first place), but another body transformation, which causes a buzzing sound.

Another child star hits the weights.
This time it is Chris Knight, aka Peter Brady.
Remember him?
He now looks different. I could not really have a good picture that shows exactly the transformation he made it (rumors put him at 5% body fat.)
He has a super-model country (albeit aCrazy). So he must do something right.

To be honest, I do not know really remember when it was LL Cool J, each thin or thick.

Number One Hollywood Physique Transformation: Mark Wahlberg
This dudehas always been known for his six-pack.
But it is a series of changes to justify the body, it the top spot.

First he lost a large amount of weight (about 40lbs rumors indicated) to play Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights.
He puffed himself for his role in "The Pride And The Glory ..., which was later put on hold.
Here is what he said too fat for the role ...

"Putting on weight was a joke for the first two weeks, but then you have to wake upeat at 2 in the morning and two burgers, and go back to bed. And by 7 clock in the morning - eat a stack of pancakes. They have not even swallow your last meal, and you are put under it for another book. So that was not funny. "

Do you have a son or daughter heading off to college this fall? Shall I do, and if you accidentally came across this article I'm going to have that my baby girl Alexis is a novice at the University of Missouri known as Mizzou in Columbia this fall. Many of my friends have their children the same age and one of them gave me the most amazing article on children who were born in 1990 and our future college class of 2012, when they actually graduate in four years of study.The article was a real eye-opener for someone my age, considering that the majority of young adults thought Watergate poled sample is something to do with water.

Of course it made me a little prehistoric, until I realized it confirmed that I still know quite a bit more, that my daughter ... wow! I will only shares a few of my top picks on the list as a particularly hard hit home for me was in a big way, taking into account Alexis some editorial control over the pages of her yearbookallowing them the freedom of expression in a unique way on one side.

So my favorite pick from the list is that "girls in head scarves have always been part of social life." Girls with headscarves?

Yes! So picture a picture of myDaughter and her best friend Bre adorn this fashionable head scarves on the sides of the Parkway South High School Yearbook 2008 for ever. You can only imagine the excitement when the books came in the house of the young adults and parents say the same, that they have no clue that was to make any kind of head scarves trendy fashion statement.

I wanted to get on a trip to New York, the abbreviation for New York City, I love it in New York, especially Central Park, the museum is great too, and, of course, the Empire State Building. Woops, what museum, the Metropolitan, that is my choice. Then I like to walk down the street, and there is a big sign: The Tonight Show, which I have never been to, but at its location on all my travels, but when my wife and I went to see if we enter 14 . August 2001. Theywere on a break of a kind Rufered We met at "Hello Deli", had one of his famous sandwiches. I can not say when it will happen, but it is always normal, and all of a sudden I was there. Iwas in a corridor in New York City, a look at some pictures on the wall, and wait. My brother was with me. A man came, Ed mentioned, I think I knew him from one place. I could not quite place him, but I asked my brother to him. My trouble is a photographer, the type who wants an independent contractor to collect myself. He travels around the country, and many of his many paintings, which he from me, he sold many text books and journals. He has his own vaults of the images in one placeArizona, perhaps it is New Mexico, Haw ...! Someplace out West. He has done some traveling abroad, but not much, or should I say, as I do. Not sure if this has to be said. But my mind is racing. I like it in New York City.

I noticed that I was introducing my brother to Ed, the former world champion in boxing, Fraaaaz ... that everything is read what I did. I think it was Frazer, but I can not say with certainty. He had an office in the same building, on top of the second or third floor. I should gocheck it out I said to myself, maybe it is Frazer. I had seen all his fights. I have all his fights on tape, that is, most of his fights on tape. He is an aggressive boxer. And he has a heart. He never stops. I do not think he got the applause he deserves: as Ali, with the big mouth. I like him too, and he was great, but the mouth. I think, is that what people buy. Like cigarettes, pack them well, and it will sell.

I remember almost all of his fights well, Ali is what. But thenThere are about six-cylinder boxer I like. Sullivan [I have a signature of his]; Jack Dempsey [I have a letter] from him [Ali, I have signed his glove], and Frazer, I have something from him, but I can say right now. When I was at the bottom of the pile of wood, I found my way out of the camp. When I tried to find was my transportation back home, I try to conceal found my new camera. Someone then asked if I have seen. I thought in my head, wait a minute, since you left, I found it. But I really do not need. If the personwas not looking I have it on a wooden box, and got on the train. I expected that my brother there, and Ed needs.

When I got home, I saw my apartment. I already had a signed 3 x 5 cards from the World Champ Joe Frazer. I'd have bought him a few years back. I once a woman in a small town in Iceland, we were in a group on a boaton the lookout for whales. She said she was a little lonely. And so I took her to a cafe in the city and had whale meat. For the Wal-lovers, it is legal there. And the whale tastes good, good, good. In any case, we became friends. When she came home to Florida, she continued to write to me. And then she went to England with a friend. They wrote me back and said, now I have the difference in traveling alone vs. someone with them to have (someone that errors and thus for you, excites you know). Theysaid she could not go anywhere without her complaining. Thought it was their duty to entertain them. You are now traveling alone. I voted for 25 out of 34-years of travel, the travel alone, and brother, I do not regret a minute.

Is there someone more talented than Bette Midler?

Bette Midler was in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 1 Born in December 1945. Their origin is Jewish and Italian. It was named after Bette Davis although Midler does not pronounce the second "e" in their name as Davis. It is the third of four children.

For college she attended the University of Hawaii, where she studied drama. Dedicated to acting, Midler was out of college completion. In 1966, she landed her first film role in the film Hawaii. It was not an important role as part of theirwas only as an extra, but it greatly encouraged their interest in a professional actor. To this end, she moved to New York City to pursue roles on Broadway.

Their efforts were soon rewarded with a role in the legendary Broadway musical "Fiddler on the Roof. She played Tzeitel, the eldest daughter, who was a very important role for someone just breaking into professional acting. While working on Fiddler on the Roof , Midler's sister Judy was killed by a taxi while to visit them.Midler performed in Fiddler on the Roof until 1969.

In 1970 she got a gig in a gay bathhouse. There she met Barry Manilow. Manilow played the piano at the bathhouse, and the two became good friends. Manilow produced her first album "The Divine Miss M, which was published in 1972. The album won rave revues and has since sold millions of copies. Collected in 1973 The Divine Miss M Midler a Grammy for Best New Artist.

Midler won a Tony Award in 1974 for their involvement in a Broadway playTitle Mussels on the Half Shell Revue. In 1978 she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her starring role in the film, The Rose, in which she played a drug-addled rock star loosely based on Janis Joplin.

In 1989, again achieved Midler's success with their hit single "Wind Beneath My Wings" which earned her a Grammy for record of the year. She returned to music success in 1989 with the song "From a Distance," which was awarded a Grammy.

In 1992, Midlerwon an Emmy for an appearance on the Tonight Show hosted by Johnny Carson. Bette Midler is one of the most talented stars in America. She's found success in film, theater, television and music. Some popular artists can match her range of abilities. There are not many people can say they have won Tony, Grammy and an Emmy.

There are different views on whether parents should spank their children for misbehavior - but most child psychologists agree on one thing - a child should never be lost of anger - such an act crossed the line and is considered to be unfair.

I am reminded - of all things - by the recent controversy, the comedian David Letterman - who crossed the border by a sexist "joke" with the 14-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Letterman is a liberal, if itcomes to his policies and a large part of his "humor" is directed at conservatives - and especially Governor Palin. Regardless Governor Palin is a public person - seen by many as his "jokes" about the governor and her family sexist, mean spirited, and insulting.

The recent flap forced to apologize for the comic, the Palin family for one of his jokes - but only after protests and demonstrations for his release outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York (where Letterman tapes hisShow) won broad support from the spectators.

Some demonstrators held signs which are on Letterman as a "dirty old man" or worse. CBS felt the heat, even when financial sponsors began the Letterman show (including Olive Garden restaurants), their ads.

A concerned Letterman tried to explain the "joke" and the public blamed for misunderstanding the point. The comic said he was not referring to Governor Palin's 14-year-old daughter Willow as aHis "Knocked Up" in the joke - but Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol.

Oh yeah, that makes sense.

For the record became the Letterman joke: During a recent trip to New York - the governor's daughter (he did not identify) was the daughter of "Knocked Up" of baseball player Alex Rodriguez during the 7th Inning at Yankee Stadium in New York.
